This year you can also experience Dart online from everywhere in Spain
Dart Festival 2020 arrives to Filmin. This year you can watch online all the documentaries in program (from Spain only), Friday 27th November to Tuesday 8th December, whether you are a Filmin subscriber or not
Dart is the meeting point between cinema and art in Spain. It is the first documentary film festival dedicated to contemporary art whose main objective is to intertwine culture and knowledge with the general public, and it does so through documentaries on photography, art curatorship, painting, performance, architecture, artistic movements and, in general, on contemporary art, paying special attention to artists, their creative processes and the stories behind their work. The approaches are very diverse: biopics, visual arts projects produced for a specific place or time, exhibitions or relevant events in the history of contemporary art, from the avant-garde hatching of the early 20th century to the present day. At the same time, the programme includes educational and informative activities, such as talks, visits to art galleries, exhibitions, Q&A and debates.
→ To offer a genre previously unexplored by existing film festivals in Spain and Latin America to focus our attention on contemporary art.
→ To promote the work of filmmakers and support the national and international documentary industry in order to stimulate research in this artistic field by professionals in the sector.
→ To generate new ways of experiencing and exploring art through film, offering a different framework for approaching and getting to know this type of proposal beyond galleries, museums, schools and through books and other media.
→ To explore the aesthetic and intellectual role that art has in society through film, as well as the unequivocal will to show it as a living and constantly evolving phenomenon.
