In this docu-essay, Peio Aguirre shows the evolution of an artist committed to modernity and the popular, through a photographic archive that moves between the intimate and the documentary. The film was created for the exhibition “Nestor Basterretxea, through photography”, which Aguirre curated at the Kutxa Fundazioa in San Sebastian (2020). Through his own photographs, the artist Néstor Basterretxea is portrayed by the art critic and curator Peio Aguirre, a great connoisseur of his work and archives, who also curated Basterretxea’s retrospective exhibition “Form and Universe” at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao (2013).
